FAQ

What do I have to remove for a Reflexology Session?

You only need to remove your shoes and socks. Your Reflexologist will work only on your feet, hands, ears or face.

Is Reflexology like massage?

No, Reflexology is the application of specific pressures to reflex points in hands, feet, ears and face.

How does Reflexology work?

There are zones and reflex areas in the feet, hands and ears corresponding to all body  parts. Reflexology works through the nervous system.

What education should a professional have?

A nationally-certified Reflexologist has a minimum of 200 hrs of study & documented practice.  There are schools with lesser requirements. Always ask your Reflexologist about their  education.

How often should I get reflexology?

Reflexology is good most anytime to de-stress your body, promote improved circulation to stressed areas of the body and to promote homeostasis in the body to facilitate health, wellness and the body's ability to heal itself.  When very sick, very young or old, sessions will be less frequent, lesser in duration and with gentler pressure on the reflexes. Session lengths can vary from a few minutes for an infant to an hour for a healthy adult.  For those looking for a de-tox, which is often recommended when starting on a healing program, 2 - 3 sessions a week up to 10 sessions is suggested, followed by a frequency that you and your Reflexologist agree upon for your specific needs.  However, you do not have to start with the de-tox protocol. Talk with your local Reflexologist for what they recommend for your specific needs.
